HANDICAPS & FAIR PLAY

To keep the league competitive, fair, and honest, team handicaps will be handled as follows:

Returning Fall League Teams

  • Teams returning from the Fall League will use the rolling team handicap we’ve built from their previous league performance.

  • This handicap is based on real simulator data and scramble results and will continue to adjust as the season progresses.

New Teams

  • All new players must have a Golf Canada handicap.

  • Individual handicaps will be used to calculate a team handicap using the following weighting:

    • 25% of the lowest handicap

    • 20% of the second lowest

    • 15% of the third

    • 10% of the highest handicap (capped at a maximum index of 24)

  • This creates an initial team handicap for league play.

Adjustment Period

  • New teams will be required to play a couple of pre-season rounds.

  • We will also factor in Week 1 Winter League scores.

  • Using this data, we may adjust team handicaps to better reflect simulator performance and scramble play.

This process ensures:

  • Fair competition across both divisions

  • Honest handicaps that reflect actual play

  • A level playing field for all teams throughout the season
